The Ritual of light

Yesterday I was at Christmas party to celebrate Rituals new winter collection called The Ritual of light. It is a limited edition collection that is sweet orange and cinnamon scented.

The winter collection consists of a body cream, body scrub, foaming shower gel, bath foam, fragrance sticks, scented candles and tea. I am obsessed with the scented candle! It smells so good, so it is definitely a must have for me this winter.

The gift sets has a new design that is very luxurious, so there’s no need to wrap them before giving them away. I wouldn’t mind if my Christmas tree looked like this!

It’s a little early to start thinking about Christmas, but I have to admit that I got into a very festive mode during this party. All the lights, scents and decorations, it was really nice and cosy.

It was a Christmas cocktail party so of course we were treated to some drinks, this one I chose was called Dao Delight. It consisted of gin, lime juice and mint and it was delicious!

As usual I had to match my nails for the occasion, and I hope that you can see what my inspiration was!

Lights was really the theme of the evening, here are water lanterns that we lit and then put in the water. It was really cold outside and a bit unsteady on the small pier, but once we got the lanterns in the water we could just watch them and enjoy the beautiful lights! It was so pretty in the dark.

Before we left the party we all got a Christmas gift, which was one of their gift sets. I got The Ritual of Dao, and I’m really excited to try it since I don’t think I’ve tried any of the products from this ritual.

Thank you Rituals and Presskontakterna for a lovely evening!

Empties #4

Here are a few more of my recent empties!

Lagerhaus – Kokos (Coconut scented candle)

I love scented candles and especially to have them in the bathroom, it makes the whole room smell so nice. This one is pretty cheap (39kr) for 45h burn time. The best part is that the whole candle burns up, unlike many other cheap candles that just burn a small hole in the middle. Oh, and I almost forgot, it smells lovely!

The Body Shop – Almond hand & nail cream

It’s a pretty good hand creme that keeps your hands moisturized but I don’t really like the almond scent. I have tried a lot of other hand creams that I like much more than this one.

Bliss – Triple oxygen instant energizing cleansing foam

Talk about putting a really long name on that product, I mean who even says the whole name? I like to use a foaming face wash when I’m removing my makeup and this one is pretty good, you don’t need to use that much product for the makeup to come off. But afterwards the skin feels a bit oily and that’s the one thing that I dislike about this product.

Löwengrip Care & Color – Count on me

To begin with I didn’t like this deodorant, it just didn’t work for me! At first it smelled lovely, but as soon as I got warm the smell turned really bad. But since it is kind of pricey (119kr) I didn’t want to throw it away. After a few months, when my other deodorant was empty, I tried this one again and this time it worked better. It’s not the best deodorant I’ve tried and it’s also not the worst, but for this price I was hoping for more.

Bliss – Ex-‘glow’-sion

A lovely vitamin infused moisture cream that smells so good. After using it the skin feels moisturized and gets a nice glow. I’m a bit sad that it’s all used up (and that I have other creams to use up before get a new one) but I’m pretty sure that I will buy it again soon.

Rituals nail polish

Rituals is my favorite body care brand, so far I’ve loved everything I’ve tired from them. So when I found out that they have makeup too I was intrigued. Did you know that they have makeup as well?

I have a few polishes from Rituals to show you today, one neutral shade, two bright shades and two darker shades.

img_6395Rituals – Light pink

Light pink is a very sheer pale pink polish. I used three coats here but as you see I still have a lot of VNL*, way too much for my taste. I think this polish would be perfect as the base for a French manicure, or by itself if you have shorter nails.

img_6397Rituals – Light turquoise

Light turquoise is a mint creme polish that covers really good in one coat, but you know me, I always use two coats to get a more intense color. I really like this polish and I think it is the perfect color for spring and summer. I just wonder why they named it Light turquoise since it is mint colored.

img_6399Rituals – Light peach

Light peach is a peach-y coral creme polish that covers in two to three coats. I love this color so so much, it is the perfect summer shade!

img_6401Rituals – Grey blue

Grey blue is a grey-ish creme polish that is almost a one coater, however I used two coats.

img_6403Rituals  – Dark grey

Dark grey is a brown creme polish that covers in two coats. I’m a bit confused here, it is called Dark grey, but it is a brown polish. Anyway, it is a beautiful autumn shade.

All polishes have a really good formula that is easy to apply. I really liked the brush, it is just the right size, not too skinny and not too wide. All swatches are all painted over one coat of base coat and are without top coat.

While I swatched these polishes I had my Sweet Sunrise scented candle from Rituals next to me, I’m so obsessed with it! It smells lovely and it’s beautiful when it’s lit up (then you see the quote “What’s meant to be, will always find a way” which is not visible otherwise).
