Blue floral nails

I felt that I needed to paint something completely different to all the fall and Halloween designs I’ve done lately. So I went for something that I love to paint, flowers!

For this floral manicure I used I believe in manicures, Apartment for two, Mod about you and I’m sooo swamped! all from OPI, together with a dotting tool and a detail brush from Depend. The dotting tool and detail brush have become favorites of mine. Since I got them I have used them for almost all my free-hand nail art designs. (Read more about them here)

Depend Decoration tools

The first things I decided to try from the box filled with nail art things from Depend was the decoration tools kit. More precisely the detail brush and the dotting tool from the kit.

This kit actually contains four brushes but I have only tested the two so far. The detail brush is a bit shorter than what I’m used to with my other brushes, but it’s still easy to hold and to work with. The dotting tool has two sides, one with a bigger end and one with a smaller end, they turned out to be the perfect sizes for making my mani!

All the things I used for this manicure: Depend O2 486 (blue), Depend 031 (white), Depend O2 369 (cerise), Depend O2 488 (pink), Depend O2 489 (green), Depend dotting tool & detail brush.

The small end of the dotting tool turned out to be the perfect size for the dotticure! And I used the bigger end to make the first step of the roses. To paint the pink in the roses I used the detail brush, and I think it was just the right size to make small details and lines. It works for a little bigger detail too, like the leaves.

This is how my manicure turned out using the tools and polishes from Depend. I wanted to do a mani that was very me since I thought that would be the best way to test the new tools and I’m really happy with the result!

The Decorations tools kit is available in stores now and retail for 149 kr.

June favorites

Here are my favorite manis from June. I actually though this month’s theme would’ve been fruits, since I’ve done a couple of fruit manicures that I really like. But I guess I liked these flower nails more. And the flowers with the blue background is the one I like most of them all.

Which one is your favorite?

Flowers for the weekend

Yesterday evening I didn’t know what to paint on my nails. After some thinking I decided flowers was a good idea, so I painted some roses. And I think they turned out soooo good, I love them!

The base is The I’s have it, a lovely blue polish from Alice through the looking glass collection, that I just adore. Then I used Mod about you and a dotting tool, to make the first step of the roses. After that I used Shorts story and a detail brush (I used Pure color #10 detail brush from Whatsupnails) to complete the roses. I know that I’ve used Mod about you and Shorts story together many times before when I’m painting roses, but they just work so well together! For the leaves I started with I’m sooo swamped! and than I randomly just painted a little blit of That’s hula-rious! over it using my detail brush.

Now that I think about it I should’ve photographed each step, to make a better tutorial. Is that something you want me to do in the future? Please let me know in the comments!

These nails were really easy to make and actually didn’t take that long to finish (good for me since I started painting too late last night).

Hope you like these nails as much as I do!
