ManixMe August | Mosaic

Today I’m going to show you Maniology’s August ManixMe box, and for those of you who haven’t heard of it before – it is a monthly nail art subscription box! Each month has a different theme and the box consists of 2 exclusive stamping plates, 2 stamping polishes plus a surprise gift (e.g. a brush, stickers, foil, powder). There’s also an express kit version that consists of 2 stamping plates plus a surprise gift. With your first box or kit you get a free stamper and scraper set ($10 value).

Get $5 off your first ManixMe box using the code Hanninator10 (the code also gives you 10% off all regular priced items on www.maniology.com)

August’s Mosaic themed box is inspired by Middle Eastern art and architecture. I love Moroccan/Arabesque patterned nails, so I was really excited to get this box.

For my first design I used both polishes, the nail foil, and one of the plates included in the box. I probably wouldn’t have chosen this color combination if these polishes had not been a part of the box – but I’m so loving it and it’s giving me fall vibes! I also used Coconut from Maniology as my base polish for this design.

For my second look I used the other stamping plate and colors that I would have typically used for tiled inspired nail art. I’m going to be honest, the finished design did not turn out like I had in mind, but I still like it! For this design I used Maui Gold, Ducky and Blue glue all from Maniology.

Since the August box is no longer available I though I’d give you a peek of September’s Hocus Pocus themed box. I hope I will be able to create some looks with the September box while it’s still available, but unfortunately international shipping is very unpredictable and takes some time… sometimes way longer than it should.

Aspen tree nails + video tutorial

Hi everyone! Autumn is slowly approaching (at least in Sweden) and the leaves on the trees have started to change color. Even though I prefer summer I’m kind of looking forward to the new season. It’s so beautiful when the leaves change color and start to fall from trees. One more thing I like about fall is the fall themed nail art! I love making leaf nail art designs.

Today I’m going to share with you my first leaf nail art for the season and I hope you like them as much as I do!

The base for this design is Essie Midnight sun and I stamped the threes using UberChic Beauty’s new Lovely leaves 3 stamping plate together with Glow upVibin’LitSauceySubtweet and No filter from Twinkled T. I finished off the design with my new favorite matte top coat from Glisten & Glow (called Matte top coat). Their Matte top coat instantly became a favorite because it dries very matte and it doesn’t dry streaky like some matte top coats tend to do.

I always have a hard time deciding between glossy or matte finish, so I had to take photos of the glossy version too! Which do you prefer, matte or glossy?

Check out the video tutorial for this design below!

Bundle Monster Botanicals collection

Today we’re going to take a closer look at Bundle Monsters Botanicals collection. The collection consists of ten plates and so far I have used four of the plates to create three designs. I can’t wait for fall to arrive so I can use the leaf images on these plates to create gorgeous fall leaves designs.

For this bright hibiscus design I used Restless Dahlia as my base and stamped the hibiscus flowers using BM-S324 stamping plate and black stamping polish Straight up black, I filled in the flowers using Rose gardenGobi you and Empire club.

For these succulent nails I used BM-S326, BM-S327 and black stamping polish Straight up black.

I would’ve loved to have this plate in the spring, because I know I would’ve made more than one tulip design then. But who says you can only enjoy tulips in the spring!? I think they’re beautiful flowers and should be enjoyed all year. To create this design I used BM-S325 and black stamping polish Straight up black.

I also did some nail art using four of the polishes, 0341, 0342, 0344 and 0345. I haven’t done a water marble design in forever so I’m very happy to see that it turned out this good.

In Sweden you can find Sophin polishes at thepurebox.se.

Chameleon flakes from BeautyBigBang

Hi guys, today I have some flakes from BeautyBigBang to show you!
A few weeks ago I was asked if I wanted to try some of their products and I said yes. The Chameleon flakes caught my eye, so I chose to try three of their colors.

IMG_1502

The Chameleon flakes are on sale right now for $2.99 (original price $5.99) and you can find them here. Each box contains 0,2 g, and they’re available in twelve different shades.

As you see in the picture above each box of flakes comes with a double sided eye shadow applicator. To apply the flakes you can either use the applicator they come with, your finger, a fan brush or another type of brush.

To get the flakes to really pop and get the most colorful result I’ve applied them over two coats of black nail polish, and they’re topped with a quick dry glossy top coat.

IMG_1492

First out are these gorgeous blue to purple shifting flakes called J2443-2A. In some lights they even shift a little bit to green, which you can see on my ring finger in the first picture.

Next up are these purple to green shifting flakes called J2443-3A. Out of the three flakes I got, I think these are my favorites!

And the last flakes I got are these orange to green shifting flakes called J2443-4A. These flakes look like there’re on fire!

I also tried the flakes over white, and even tough the color shifting isn’t as obvious as over black, I’m totally in love with the result! I think my favorite over white has to be J2443-3A.

From left to right I’m wearing: 2A, 3A and 4A.

The flakes were really easy to apply and the result is stunning! They shift beautifully in different lights and you wont be able to take your eyes off your nails with the flakes on them.

The application can be a little messy, also be careful when you open the box otherwise you’ll have flakes everywhere. Some scotch tape is really hand to pick up excess flakes around your nails or on your working space. You can also rinse off the flakes on you skin with some water after you’ve applied your top coat.

Painted Polish Haute Parisian Nights

I think it’s safe to say that I’ve become obsessed with holo and indie nail polish (preferably a combination of the two). Today I’m showing you my first polish from indie brand Painted Polish, called Haute Parisian Night.

img_7482

Haute Parisian Nights is a hot pink ultra holographic polish that covers in two super easy coats. It is a linear holo with silver holographic glitter, and I guess that’s what makes it an ultra holo! Anyway I freaking love this polish! It is seriously stunning, I could not stop staring at my nails while wearing it. In the sun you can really see that it is a linear holo, and when the nails are not in direct sunlight you really see the holographic glitters in it.

I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves.

img_7735

I really, really didn’t want to remove it so I decided to use it as the base for nail art (not that it needs any nail art on top of it). To fit in with the month of February I chose to stamp a rose design using stamping plate BP-73 from Born Pretty Store and stamping polish White Knight from MoYou London.

I can’t wait to get my hands on some more ultra holos from Painted Polish!
