Holo jelly gradient

Hi guys! Did you know that today is National nail polish day? Well, for me every day is nail polish day. But it’s still a fun occation, don’t you think?

Today I have some bright, sparkly and super glossy nails to share with you! I’m so happy with how they turned out so I’m actually gonna be a little sad when I have to remove them.

I started by painting my nails with Mega (X) from ILNP which is a silver holographic polish. Then I sponged on the gradient using the Color Paints from OPI (Landscape artist, Primarily yellow, Chromatic orange, Magenta muse and Purple perspective). Lastly I stamped a floral pattern over the gradient using stamping plate 9-03 from ÜberChic beauty and Midnight mischief from Painted Polish (which is THE best black stamping polish!).

IMG_7580

Here is how the gradient looked before I added the stamping. It’s really pretty, but I like it so much more with the stamping on top. Which version do you like the most?

How are you celebrating national nail polish day? I’m going to celebrate by taking these off (😢) and paint some new nails!

Lilypad Lacquer To dance with a peacock

This is the second time I’m participating in Karin’s green Wednesday, and today I chose to wear a polish from Lilypad Lacquer. Lilypad Lacquer is a brand that is new to me, I’ve known of them for many years but I haven’t tried any of their polishes until now.

img_0471

To dance with a peacock is a dark green / teal linear holographic polish. The polish has a good formula and was really easy to apply. I’m wearing two coats plus topcoat.

I managed to wear the polish on a day when the sun was out, so I got some pictures of it in sunlight. Just look at that beautiful holo!

Born Pretty nail polish

Last week I got some polishes from Born Pretty store that I was sent to review, one holo and one creme polish. I have actually never tried any of their polishes before, I’ve only tried their stamping products previously.

img_3681

Here are the products that I got; Dark Green BPR005 (item id #35982) and Heart of gold (item id #36892).

Heart of gold is a gold linear holographic nail polish that covers in 2 coats. It has a wide rounded brush that makes the application really easy. The holo is very visible and I would love to try some more of their holographic polishes!

Dark green BPR005 is a green creme polish that covers in just one coat and the formula is amazing! It has the same wide rounded brush as Heart of gold which makes it super easy to apply.

December 19 | Cute (ugly) Christmas sweater

Ho ho ho holo there! Today is Monday and that means that Christmas week is here! I went christmas shopping after work today, so now I only have a one or two gifts left to get. How is your Christmas shopping going?

For day 19 of 24 days of Christmas by Hanninator I’ve made some Christmas sweater inspired nails again, I just think they are so cute!

img_3588

For this mani I used holo berries from piCture pOlish and Alpine snow from OPI together with stamping plate Celebration BPX-L008 from Born Pretty. The pink is actually supposed to be white, it just changed color when I added the top coat. But I think they turned out pretty cute anyway.

Don’t you just love this red holo!?

December 17 | Santa french manicure

Happy Saturday everybody! Can you believe that it’s only one week left until Christmas eve!? That also means thats it’s only two weeks left of this year, crazy!

For day 17 of 24 days of Christmas by Hanninator I’ve made a French manicure with a twist, it’s Santa inspired.

img_3520

For this manicure I used Nail Envy Bubble bath and Alpine snow from OPI along with Madder from Cirque Colors. This design is really easy to make, all you need is a dotting tool.

Hope you like these nails!

Cupcake Polish Berry Good Looking

After seeing Anne wear this polish the other day I felt like I hade to wear it too!

img_0845Cupcake Polish – Berry Good Looking

Berry good looking is a purple linear holographic polish that covers in two coats. It dries a bit dull so a glossy top coat is a must to show off the beautiful holo!
The first time I used it the formula was a bit thick and it dried quick, so I had to to work fast to get a smooth application. When I read about this polish on Annes blog she said that her polish was a bit runny, so I thought that maybe the formula of mu polish was wrong. So I used a few drops of thinner and the formula turned out so much better!

This is my first Cupcake Polish and it’s so pretty that I think it will be hard to beat!

Cirque Colors

I have recently gotten really into indie polishes. It all started with piCture pOlish this summer, and my latest discovery is Cirque Colors.

Cirque Colors is a New York-based indie brand specializing in hand-blended nail lacquers. Their nail polish is 3-free, which means it does not contain toluene, formaldehyde and dibutyl phthalate (DBP). And in true indie style all their products are hand-mixed in small batches and hand-poured individually.

Let’s take a look at my first three, but definitely not last, polishes from Cirque Colors.

img_0599Cirque – Xochitl

Xochitl is a beautiful purple linear holographic polish that covers in two coats. I don’t know why but I’m really drawn to purple holos and this one is no exception. I actually think this one could be my absolute favorite purple holo!

img_0604

img_0603Cirque – Bejeweled

Bejeweled is a blue linear holographic polish that covers in two coats. OMG just look at this blue color, isn’t it the prettiest you’ve seen!?

img_0608

img_0607Cirque – Framboise

Framboise is a raspberry pink linear holographic polish that covers in two coats. Wow, another stunning polish! This color is just so pretty and girly.

You guys I’m really impressed with these polishes, they are super easy to apply and have great formulas! I don’t think I can decide which shade I like the most, it depends on what mood I’m in for the moment.

Have you tried any polishes from Cirque Colors?

Halloween nail art

Halloween is just around the corner and I have some Halloween themed nail art to show you. Hopefully you’ll find some inspiration!

img_7738

What if you really really don’t like spiders? Well make them holo of course! For this mani I used Kimono-over from Essie, Space race from H&M, Spider stencils from Snail vinyls and some freehand skills.

img_7899

For this mani I used Lincoln park after dark, O Suzi mio, Purple palazzo pants, Lady in black and Alpine snow, all from OPI together with Graveyard stencils from Whatsupnails.

img_7905

And here is a close-up on the thumb just because it turned out pretty good.

img_8009

For this black cat french manicure I used New York from piCture pOlish, 5042 Lady Wizard from Depend and Alpine snow from OPI.

img_8415

The holo spider decided to leave some holo spider webs on my nails. For this manicure I used Black dress not optional from OPI as the base and I stamped with Space race from H&M using stamping plate Mother nature 04 and the crystal clear stamper from MoYou London.

img_8454

This is a recreation of a mani I did last Halloween, but this time with holo. For this mani I used Unicorn dream, Forbidden witchcraft, Sweet elves, 031 and 497 from Depend.

img_8565

These spooky fall leaves are inspired by a picture I saw on Pinterest. Someone had painted fall leaves white and then painted eyes and a mouth on them to make them look like ghosts. I though that idea would be great as nail art, and I think I was right! For this mani I used Black dress not optional, Alpine snow and Lady in black from OPI together with Autumn leaf stencils from Snail vinyls.

img_9014

October is not just Halloween, it’s also breast cancer awareness month, so I decided to combine the two with these pink Hello Kitty skulls. These nails took me forever to make, since I’m apparently not friends with the stamping plate I used. For this mani I used O2 488, 488, 039, black and white stamping polish from Depend, together with stamping plate Fun 9 from Fab Ur Nails.

img_9296

For this bat-man(i) I used Meow from piCture pOlish together with stamping plate Festive 15 from MoYou London and silver and black stamping polish from Depend.

img_9487

Did someone say holoween, how cool are these orange holo pumpkins!? For this mani I used Forbidden witchcraft as the base together with 039, both from Depend along with Pumpkin faces stencils and Dot zig zag tape from Whatsupnails.

How will you paint you nails for halloween?

Layla Hologram effect

I’ve always liked holo polishes, but recently I’ve becommed obsessed with them. I think it’s safe to say that I have become a holosexual! ✨

I recently bought two holos from Layla, a brand that is new to me. Let’s take a look at these beauties!

Layla  – 12 Red taboo

Wow, I mean just look at this beautiful polish. I’m in love! It is such a beautiful color and I couldn’t stop staring at my nails. The only thing that I think is a bit misleading with this polish is the name, Red taboo, seeing that it is pink, not red.

img_3119Layla – 15 Misty blush

This one is so pretty too! This color is a bit darker so I think it will be perfect for autumn.

The formula was pretty much the same for both polishes. It was a bit runny, but still very easy to apply. I used three coats here in these pictures, but I could’ve managed with two coats, it was just a little bit patchy on some spaces. To get the best result you have to be really light handed and almost not touch the nail with the brush. Another reason that I used three coats is that they were so beautiful when I applied them that I just couldn’t stop!

Now I want to buy even more holos from Layla!
