Laura Mercier – Almond coconut milk hand & body créme

This hand creme is nice and moisturizing but the scent is pretty strong so it’s not for everyone. I’m not that sensitive about scents but I think that this one is a little bit too intense and it stays on the skin a little too long. I can wash my hands and the scent is still there. I like the scent, but I think that it stays too long.

Giorgio Armani – Sí eau de parfum

I got this tiny sample from Kicks online shop (why can’t we get samples in store?) and I probably wouldn’t have bought this perfume after just trying it once. It smells nice but I didn’t think that the scent suited me at first. After using it for a few days I started to really like the scent. I already have more perfumes than I need, so I don’t really need to get , but if I find it for a good price maybe I just might…

Urban Decay – All nighter makeup setting spray

This setting spray is really good (I’d say the best, but I’ve only used this one so I can’t really say that). It makes my makeup stay on longer and makes my skin less shiny.

By Terry – Mascara Terrybly

I haven’t really had a favorite mascara for a few years, since my old favorite was discontinued. I do have a lot of mini sized mascaras that I’ve gotten as gwp’s so I tend to try new ones often. I like the brush on this mascara even though I prefer mascaras with rubber brushes. It gives me long and pretty lashes, but it also gives me fallout at the end of the day. And the price is a bit too high for me to buy it in the original size, so the search for my new favorite mascara continues.

Estée Lauder – Advanced night repair

I’ve heard so many good things about this product, but I can’t really say that I agree. During the time I have used it I haven’t seen or felt any difference to my skin than usual. And the product is really expensive so I wouldn’t buy it.

My favorite hand creams

I have tried a lot of hand creams, and I like to try new ones when the old ones are empty. But I have a few that I always end up buying again and again. Avoplex from OPI and Many many mani from Essie are two of them.

Both hand cremes smell lovely and they sink into the skin really fast while still keeping the hands moisturized. They are my favorite hand cremes to use during the day, since they don’t leave your hands greasy. The only downside is that I can’t find Many many mani anywhere in Sweden, so I always have to stock up when I’m abroad.

Which hand creme is your favorite?

Empties #6

This time it’s all about the hands, feet and nails. A few of these products are old favorites that I always have at home, and some of the products are just meh…

Burt’s Bees – Peppermint foot lotion

Why does almost all foot creams smell of peppermint? I wish that this foot cream would have been a bit more moisturizing and nourishing. I like the Coconut foot cream from Burt’s Bees much more. My boyfriend hated the scent of this product so he is really happy now that it’s all used up, and I’m not allowed to buy it again…😉

Burt’s Bees – Lemon butter cuticle cream

First of all, this cuticle cream smells divine! I’m a sucker for lemon so this is just right up my alley. I keep this next to my bed, and use it every night before I go to bed. It is just great for dry cuticles. This is a product that I always have at home.

OPI – Natural nail base coat

This is my favorite base coat. I don’t know how many bottles of this I’ve used up by now, but it’s a lot.

OPI – Avoplex Nail & cuticle replenishing oil

Avoplex is my go to cuticle oil. I love everything about it. I always have one at home, one at work and one ‘on the go’ version in my handbag.

Dermalogica – Multivitamin hand and nail treatment

I really did not like the scent of this hand creme, it smells like seaweed. I’m glad that it was just 15ml and that I got it in a gwp. I can’t really say if it is good or not, since it took me like eight months to use it all up. And no it’s not super economical, I just didn’t want to use it, that’s why it took so long.

Empties #4

Here are a few more of my recent empties!

Lagerhaus – Kokos (Coconut scented candle)

I love scented candles and especially to have them in the bathroom, it makes the whole room smell so nice. This one is pretty cheap (39kr) for 45h burn time. The best part is that the whole candle burns up, unlike many other cheap candles that just burn a small hole in the middle. Oh, and I almost forgot, it smells lovely!

The Body Shop – Almond hand & nail cream

It’s a pretty good hand creme that keeps your hands moisturized but I don’t really like the almond scent. I have tried a lot of other hand creams that I like much more than this one.

Bliss – Triple oxygen instant energizing cleansing foam

Talk about putting a really long name on that product, I mean who even says the whole name? I like to use a foaming face wash when I’m removing my makeup and this one is pretty good, you don’t need to use that much product for the makeup to come off. But afterwards the skin feels a bit oily and that’s the one thing that I dislike about this product.

Löwengrip Care & Color – Count on me

To begin with I didn’t like this deodorant, it just didn’t work for me! At first it smelled lovely, but as soon as I got warm the smell turned really bad. But since it is kind of pricey (119kr) I didn’t want to throw it away. After a few months, when my other deodorant was empty, I tried this one again and this time it worked better. It’s not the best deodorant I’ve tried and it’s also not the worst, but for this price I was hoping for more.

Bliss – Ex-‘glow’-sion

A lovely vitamin infused moisture cream that smells so good. After using it the skin feels moisturized and gets a nice glow. I’m a bit sad that it’s all used up (and that I have other creams to use up before get a new one) but I’m pretty sure that I will buy it again soon.

The perfect hand care duo

Autumn is approaching and it’s time to start thinking about taking extra good care of your skin. My hands easily get very dry (especially during autumn and winter) but I have found the perfect couple to keep my hands nice and smooth.

img_4299Rituals… Miracle balm & Miracle scrub

Miracle balm

I first bought this hand creme around Christmas last year, and I think this one that I’m using right now is my third. It is very thick and nourishing and the perfect hand creme to use before you go to sleep. I think it is a bit too thick to use during the day since it takes a while for it to sink into the skin. On the back of the product it says “for extra dry hands and can be used as a night mask”, and last night I actually used it as a night mask. I drenched my hands in it right before I went to sleep and when I woke up my hands were oh so soft.

Miracle Scrub

This scrub is the best, it makes your hands so smooth. If you haven’t tried a hand scrub before make sure to get one (this one). I like to use it once or twice per week, but I’m thinking that maybe I will use it more often when it gets colder outside.

The scrub and balm are both really good products, but when you use them together they are amazing! My hands love them so much!

Empties #1

A few of my products just happened to runt out at the same time, so I thought I’d share with you what I think about them. And if I will I purchase them again…

L’Occitane – Shea butter hand cream

I really liked this hand creme! It has a nice subtle smell and it moisturizes your hands without leaving them feeling greasy. This size (30 ml) is perfect for the handbag, or just to try the product like I did. I’m pretty sure I will purchase this hand cream again and I probably would’ve already done it, if I didn’t have so many new hand creams at home already. 🙈

OPI – Nail Envy

I always use one coat of Nail Envy before I use a base coat, and I think that works good for me. It keeps my nails strong and since I practically have two coats of base coat, that protects my nails from staining pretty well too. I had already purchased a new bottle before I ran out of this one.

OPI – Avoplex cuticle oil to go

This one I keep in my handbag and it’s the perfect size and design to use ‘on the go’ as the name applies. Avoplex is my favorite cuticle oil, I don’t know how many bottles I’ve used up by now, so of course I had already purchased a replacement for this one.

Essie – many many mani

This is a (quite) new favorite for me. I love the smell and how easily it sinks in to the skin, you can read more about it here. I even had to cut the tube in two to be able to get it all out! I haven’t found this hand creme anywhere in Sweden yet, so I’ll make sure to buy it next time I’m abroad (which will be in three weeks).

Have you tried any of these products?

Essie spa manicure

When I was in London in January I found a hand scrub and a hand lotion from Essie spa. I haven’t seen them in Sweden before so I had to buy them.

Essie spa – starter scrub / many many mani

I’ve now used them for some time so I though I’d let you know what I think of them.

This is my first hand scrub (I don’t know why I haven’t bought one earlier) so I don’t have anything to compare it to. I really like this scrub from Essie, it gently exfoliates the skin and leaves your hands soft and smooth. It has a lovely but subtle fresh smell. I will definitely buy a new one when this one is empty (even if I have to go abroad to do so).

The hand lotion has the same lovely but subtle smell as the scrub. I think that this lotion is perfect for those of you who are sensitive to fragrance. It is moisturizing and makes your hands feel silky smooth. This hand lotion absorbs quickly to the skin, so no greasy hands! I.e. perfect to use during the day and at work.

I bought these for £6.99 each and they both contain 75ml.
