Rainbow nails

Last weekend was the pride festival in my home town and I made some rainbow nails for the occasion.

To make these nails I used the Color paints polishes from OPI that are perfect for water marbling. More precicely Silver canvas, Magenta muse, Chromatic orange, Primarily yellow, Landscape artist, Indigo motif, Purple perspective. To make the cleanup easier I used Mini mani moo around my nails.

I did not join the parade, but found that my nails were matching this awesome mural on a house in town.

June favorites

Here are my favorite manis from June. I actually though this month’s theme would’ve been fruits, since I’ve done a couple of fruit manicures that I really like. But I guess I liked these flower nails more. And the flowers with the blue background is the one I like most of them all.

Which one is your favorite?

Welcome to the world of nail art

Yesterday I got home to a big package from Depend, they have just released a collection called Welcome to the world of nail art that contains a bunch of nail art things. It’s perfect if you’re a beginner or if you’re not so good at freehand nail art.

I bet you want to know what was inside this big box, so let’s take a look.

GLITTER BOMB! ✨ Long confetti glitter, hexagonal glitter, fine loose glitter and rhinestones in different shapes and colors. I think these are suitable for anyone, beginner or “pro”. Some glitter or rhinestone placement is always fun and can give any design an extra pop.

Stamping kit with two small plates, a stamper and a scraper and black and white stamping polish. Even more stamping polish in black, silver and white and a big stamping plate. I think it’s so fun that a Swedish company is making stamping plates and tools. I know that Depend has had the small stamping plates for a while but I have never tried them and I’m hoping we get to see more of the big stamping plates from them! Also, I have a confession to make, I’ve actually never stamped with a stamping polish (just regular polish) so I’m excited to see if it makes it easier!

Stickers and nail transfers (like decals I think) in different shapes and forms that are perfect for nail art beginners, or if you just don’t have that much time. Rock your body; a kit with metallic tattoos, skull stickers and nail piercings (😱). Striping tape and nail vinyls. You know I like to use vinyls so these ones I’m looking forward to try. Top coats x3 shiny, shimmer and matte. And last but not least, nail art brushes and tools. A fan brush, a striper brush, a detail brush and a dotting tool. The brushes are the ones I’m most excited to try from all of this. Especially the detail brush since I use a detail brush to make many (if not most) of my designs!

Flowers for the weekend

Yesterday evening I didn’t know what to paint on my nails. After some thinking I decided flowers was a good idea, so I painted some roses. And I think they turned out soooo good, I love them!

The base is The I’s have it, a lovely blue polish from Alice through the looking glass collection, that I just adore. Then I used Mod about you and a dotting tool, to make the first step of the roses. After that I used Shorts story and a detail brush (I used Pure color #10 detail brush from Whatsupnails) to complete the roses. I know that I’ve used Mod about you and Shorts story together many times before when I’m painting roses, but they just work so well together! For the leaves I started with I’m sooo swamped! and than I randomly just painted a little blit of That’s hula-rious! over it using my detail brush.

Now that I think about it I should’ve photographed each step, to make a better tutorial. Is that something you want me to do in the future? Please let me know in the comments!

These nails were really easy to make and actually didn’t take that long to finish (good for me since I started painting too late last night).

Hope you like these nails as much as I do!

6 juni

Today is Sweden’s national day so I made some Swedish themed nails to celebrate!

Rich girls & po-boys – Need Sunglasses? – Alpine snow

We don’t really know how to celebrate the national day in Sweden though and it has only been a public holiday since 2005. I enjoyed a day off, reading on the balcony, swatching nail polish and making this mani.

How do you celebrate your country’s national day?

Cherry nails

I remember when I had just started doing nail art that I wanted to do cherry nails. But somehow I forgot that and never made them, so it was about time I made them now!

I decided to pair the cherries with some polka dots and a liquid sand polish. I think it turned out as a fun and summer-y look.

For these nails I used Coca-Cola red, Magazine cover mouse, Alpine snow and Don’t mess with OPI, all polishes are from OPI.

I think that I definitely need to rock some cherry nails again!

IsaDora Sunkissed

Earlier this week I got some news from IsaDora, two polishes and one lipgloss from their new collection called Sunkissed. This collection includes bronzing make-up, to make you look tan I guess, too bad I’m so pale and haven’t gotten a tan yet. Maybe I should’ve waited to use the polishes until after Barcelona, because today me and my boyfriend are going to Barcelona and we’re staying until Friday. Hopefully the weather is good and maybe I’ll get a little tan.
Anyway, I used the polishes together with some moroccan stencils from Whatsupnails to make a summer-y look, I hope you like them!

529 Sunkissed is a gold-champagne metallic polish with small copper glitter pieces. It’s pretty sheer and the formula is good. I needed three coats for it to cover completely.

530 Peach on the beach is an orange polish with red shimmer. The formula is pretty much the same as Sunkissed’s. I needed three coats for it to cover completely.

Black & White

Every week OPI Sweden has a new theme for #veckansopi and this week’s theme is black and white.

I created my manicure using Alpine snow, Lady in black, marbled zig zag stencils from Whatsupnails and a dotting tool. They were really easy to make, all you need is a little bit of time for the polish to dry before putting on the stencil. I really like how they turned out!

Black and white does not mean boring nails (even though I prefer a little color on my nails), do you agree with me?

Cherry blossoms

I love this time of year so much, especially when the cherry blossoms start to bloom. So I just had to make some nails to match the season! 🌸

The base is It’s a boy! from this year’s soft shades collection. I used How great is your Dane? for the branches, Mod about you and Shorts story to paint the flowers and You are so outta lime! for the leaves.

Of course I had to get a picture with my nails and a cherry blossom tree!
