Essie Midsummer

Today we celebrate Midsummer’s eve in Sweden so sharing swatches of Essie’s Midsummer collection is perfect for today. I haven’t bought any Essie polishes in a long time (mostly because they’re pretty expense in Sweden) but since this collection is dedicated to Midsummer (which is a Swedish tradition) plus I found them for a really good price, I had to get them!

If you’re not familiar with midsummer it’s a Swedish/Nordic tradition where we celebrate the longest day of the year. In Sweden we dance around a Maypole, eat early potatoes and pickled herring (which I don’t like) and drink schnapps (not a big fan of that either) and of course the dessert is strawberries with cream or ice-cream.
According to the tradition girls should pick seven flowers and put under their pillow, and during the night they’ll dream about their future husband…

June in bloom is a pink polish with silver shimmer. Here I’m wearing two coats plus top coat.

SKÅL! is a green creme polish that covers on two coats. (Skål is Swedish for cheers)

Midnight sun is a blue creme polish that covers in two coats.

All night long is a purple polish with blue shimmer that covers in two coats.

Dressed to the maxi is a raspberry pink polish with pink shimmer that covers in two coats.

Dusk till dawn is a wine red creme polish with purple undertones that covers in two coats.

My favorites from this collection are SKÅL!, Midnight sun and All night long. Nail art wise SKÅL! will be perfect for floral manis, and I think it’ll come to great use this summer.

Sadly, I think this collection is only available in the Nordic countries and Germany.

What’s your favorite shade from this collection?

Zoya Sunshine

Hello everybody! Right now the weather isn’t that good, it’s cold and raining, and I miss the lovely summer weather we had in May. Just the other day I was lucky to receive Zoya’s summer collection called Sunshine! At least now my nails are ready for summer when the nice weather returns again (the forecast says it’ll get warmer next week, yay!).

The Sunshine collection consists of 8 creme polishes, two shimmer polishes and two glitter/shimmer toppers.

All Zoya lacquers are 10 free and cruelty free (meaning they don’t test on animals).

Jack is a nude beige creme polish that covers in two coats.

Nahla is a gold shimmer topper with gold glitter. Here I’m wearing one coat over Jack.

Minnie is a pink coral creme polish that covers in two coats.

Clementine is a coral pink polish with orange shimmer that covers in two coats.

Missy is a bubblegum pink creme polish that covers in two coats.

Sandy is a blue toned pink creme polish that covers in two coats.

Delia is a purple creme polish that covers in two coats.

Saldana is a blue iridescent-holo topper with  pink ad blue colored glitter. Here I’m wearing one coat over Delia.

Ellie is a raspberry colored creme polish that covers in two coats.

Virginia is a coral red creme polish that covers in two coats.

Karen is a classic red creme polish that covers in two coats.

Marigold is a coral red polish with gold shimmer that covers in two coats.

I really like pink, reds and corals so this collection is just in my taste! I already know that for my next pedi I will use Ellie.

What do you think of this collection? Are there any shades that you must have?
If I could only pick a couple I would choose the two toppers, Nahla and Saldana, just because they’re so unique, and I bet they would look amazing over many different shades!

Cienna Rose Summer collection 2018

Hi everyone, sorry I haven’t been updating much here lately. I’m hoping to post a little bit more regularly from now on.

So, last week I received Cienna Rose‘s new summer collection, which consist of five beautiful shades. If you didn’t know Cienna Rose is a UK based indie brand, and their lacquers are 12 free, vegan and cruelty free. On top of that they’re enriched with Vitamin E, Pro Vitamin B5 and Lemongrass oil, which gives the lacquers a subtle and pleasant Lemongrass scent.

Lets take a look at the swatches of the summer collection:

Marshmallow is a nude pink crelly that covers in three coats.

Latte break is a light brown polish with gold shimmer that covers in two coats.

Shopping spree is a barbie pink creme polish that covers in two coats.

Snob is a fiery red polish with gold shimmer that covers in two coats.

It’s not me, it’s you is a turquoise green polish light blue glitter and gold micro glitter that covers in two coats. In this picture I’m wearing top coat too.

I think I have found a new favorite nude pink in Marshmallow, it covers pretty well for being such a sheer shade and nude pink makes a great base for nail art. Of course it looks beautiful on it’s own too!

You can pick up the summer collection here for £40, or get the lacquers individually for £9 each.
