A few weeks ago I got some new products from Born Pretty Store to try out. Here’s what I got this time: Unicorn stamping plate (id # 39130), Origami stamping plate (id # 39127), Manicure saver claw (id # 32220) and some colored studs (id # 14438).
I have thought about getting a claw like this one for some time, because it looked like it would help not ruin your nail polish while painting and stamping. So, does it really work? Hell yes!! This thing is a life saver (not really though, more like a mani saver) and it’s so helpful when you’re stamping. No more cotton stuck to your wet polish!
Here is a mani I made using the unicorn stamping plate and I love how it turned out! So sparkly and how cute are the unicorns? The stamping plate was really easy to use, the polish was easy to pick up and the designs on the plate are just too cute.
For this spring-y origami design I used the origami stamping plate. I have to be honest, this plate was a little harder to work with. I had a really hard time trying to pick up the polish from one of the patterns (a rose) but after a few failed attempts I tried with another pattern and that worked out better. I don’t know if I just had a bad day or if something’s different with the plate, but eventually I got a finished mani, it just took a little longer than I had planned.
To make this blue polish a little more fun I decided to pair it with some matching studs, and I chose the blue square ones. In the wheel with studs you get stars and squares in six different colors; blue, pink, green, purple, yellow and orange. To place the studs I used a wax pen, and to make them stick I put a little dot of top coat where I wanted them placed. If you want the studs to stay on the nails for more than a day you can use nail glue instead of clear polish/top coat. Studs are a fun and super easy way to make your mani a bit more interesting.

A while ago I was invited to a Harry Potter themed nail art group on instagram, and since I’m a huge HP fan I was super excited to join. The first theme we decided to create was house pride. This was a bit tricky for me at first, since I didn’t know which house I belonged to. I’ve actually thought about this before, that I should be sorted but I just haven’t figured it out. I kind of knew that it would be either Hufflepuff or Slytherin, and I was happy when the sorting hat finally said “Hufflepuff!”.
For my Hufflepuff mani I obviously had to use Hufflepuff from Pahlish, which is the base for the design. To create the stripes I used Gift wrap stencils from Snail vinyls and Midnight Mischief from Painted Polish. The background for the other two nails are created using stamping plate BP-30 from Born Pretty Store and I just can’t cope-cabana from OPI. Then I used black and white acrylic paint and Detail brush 24 Dance from Whats up nails to paint the H and the badger over the leaf pattern. I finished off the design with two coats of HK Girl for a super glossy result!
I am so happy with these nails and I’m really impressed with how my badger turned out, so be prepared for a lot of photos of these nails!
I hope you like these nails as much as I do, and I’m really looking forward to making more HP themed manis in the near future.
Any HP fans out there? Let me know in the comments which house you belong to!
Yesterday I had some fun playing around with polishes. I did a water marble which I haven’t done in forever, so it was about time! I wanted it to be colorful and fun so I went for my Cirque Colors Vice shades and I love how they turned out!
First I painted my nails with a white polish, I used Alpine snow from OPI, then I covered my skin around my nails with Simply peel from Bliss Kiss to get an easy clean up. For the water marble I used Plastik, Rehab, Electric Daisy and High Roller from Cirque Colors, and they turned out to be perfect for water marbling! To create the pattern I used the #7 Water marble tool from Pure Color/Whats up nails.
I have a tutorial for this mani which you can see here.
At first I thought about using holo polishes for my water marble, but instead I decided to put a holo top coat over the finished result. So here I used one coat of We Trippy from Cirque Colors and I really like the result.
If you thought I was finished here you were wrong. I’ve seen people stamp over their water marbles with really cool results, so I just had to give it a try. I used one of my new favorite stamping plates, Feeling shapely! 07 from Lina nail art supplies tighter with my favorite black stamping polish Midnight Mischief from Painted Polish. And I’m really digging this look too.
Hope you like my water marble, and I really hope that I’ll marble soon again because it was really fun!
This is the second time I’m participating in Karin’s green Wednesday, and today I chose to wear a polish from Lilypad Lacquer. Lilypad Lacquer is a brand that is new to me, I’ve known of them for many years but I haven’t tried any of their polishes until now.
To dance with a peacock is a dark green / teal linear holographic polish. The polish has a good formula and was really easy to apply. I’m wearing two coats plus topcoat.
I managed to wear the polish on a day when the sun was out, so I got some pictures of it in sunlight. Just look at that beautiful holo!
Hi everybody. It’s Monday again and it’s also the second time I’m joining Emelie’s blue Monday theme.
For today’s nails I’m using the second stamping plate that I got from Lina nail art supplies a couple of weeks ago. The base for my mani is Rhapsody in blue from Cirque Colors. I stamped this beautiful pattern over it using Feeling shapely! 07 from Lina nail art supplies and White Knight from MoYou London.
And I had to make them matte too!
Which version do you like the most, matte or glossy?
Hi guys! I’m back with a new post with the Harry Potter inspired Pahlishes! Today we’re going to take a closer look at The Wizarding World Bespoke polishes.
Lestrange is a dark purple linear holo. I’m wearing two coats plus top coat.
Wingardium Leviosa! is a turquoise linear holo. I’m wearing two coats plus top coat.
Umbridge is a puple polish with holographic silver flakies and purple shimmer. I’m wearing two coats plus top coat. Now that I look at the pictures I see that I could’ve painted one more coat, just to get a deeper color.
Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes is a pinkish red linear holo. I’m wearing two coats plus top coat.
I will post the next part of the Harry Potter Pahlishes in a couple of days, so be sure to check back for that!
Painted Polish has really fast become a new favorite of mine, the polishes are so beautiful and amazing. When I saw that this new duo was going to be released I new I had to get them both!
This duo was created for and released on Kelli Berglund’s (Lexis cousin) 21:st birthday, February 9.
Take the cake is a lavender creme polish. I’m wearing two coats plus top coat. This polish is a perfect spring shade!
Counting candles is a lavender ultra holo with added silver holographic glitters. I’m wearing two coats plus top coat. I love the ultra holos from Painted Polish so much, and this one is no exception!
I had to make some nail art with the two polishes together and I love this design so, so much, and aren’t they a perfect match!? To create this manicure I used vinyls from Snail vinyls.
Here are my favorite manis from February. I think you can tell from them that I long for spring…
Which one of these do these do you like the most?
