Essie Getting Groovy

I got this year’s holiday collection from Essie just in time for when the first snow arrived, so I’m actually getting some Christmas vibes now!
This collection is inspired by the swinging 60’s in London. It was way before my time, so I can’t really say if the inspiration is right or not… But I do like London, polish and Essie, so I guess this collection is just my cup of tea!

“I’m into love, peace, and getting groovy” – Essie

img_0565Essie Getting Groovy – Go with the flowy

Go with the flowy is a pale grey polish with silver shimmer that covers in two coats. I think it’s a very pretty shade and it feels just right for the holidays. I bet it would be perfect for some snowflake nail art.

Satin sister is a dark teal creme polish that covers in two coats. It dries super shiny and I love this dark shade against my pale skin.

Getting groovy is a gold metallic polish that covers in two coats. This polish is the star of the collection and I can totally see why. It looks like my nails are dipped in gold, I love it!

img_0573Essie Getting Groovy – Oh behave!

Oh behave! is a peach frost polish with gold shimmer that covers in two coats. I actually like this shade more than I thought I would, since I’m not that into frosty polishes.

Party on a platform is a red creme polish that covers in two coats. It’s a perfect santa red for the holidays.

Ready to boa is a mahogany polish with bronze shimmer. This polish is a OCW, however I’m wearing two coats here just to get a better finish.

I like that we get a holiday collection with not just a bunch of different shades of red and that is has a mix of cremes and metallics/shimmers. I also like that this collection consists of a few not so common shades such as Ready to boa, Go with the flowy and Oh behave! All polishes have good formulas and were easy to apply. My favorites from this collection are Satin sister and Getting groovy.

KENZO X H&M nail art

Nail art inspiration can come from anywhere! There nails are inspired by H&M latest designer collaboration with KENZO.

I have the H&M app in my Iphone and about a week ago it was updated and got a whole new look, and I though wow that would some make great nail art.

I googled for a bigger picture and found this one, then I went through my nail polish stash to pick out polishes that would match. I used My dogsled is a hybrid, I’m sooo swamped!, Sorry I’m fizzy today, Shorts story and Lady in black, all from OPI.

Empties #7

Travel sizes is this empties theme. I really like getting travel size products, becase they’re great for when you travel, but also you get a chance to try out the product before buying the full size.

Kevin Murphy – Plumping wash & rinse

I really like these two products and I love the way they smell! Unfortunately the price tag is a bit high, so I’ll stick to some cheaper alternatives.

Maria Åkerberg – Body lotion bergamot sandalwood

I don’t really like the smell of this body lotion, so I’m glad I just got the travel size. Apart from that it is a good body lotion.

Maria Nila – True soft shampoo & conditioner

This shampoo and conditioner duo is really good, they smell nice and leave the hair soft and shiny. I would buy the big size of these ones, if they were not so expensive. There are other products that are cheaper that are as good as these, so I’ll stick to the cheaper ones.

Clarins- Beauty flash balm

This is a product that has been with me for a few years now. I use it before I put on my makeup and it gives the skin a nice glow and works as a primer.

Blue floral nails

I felt that I needed to paint something completely different to all the fall and Halloween designs I’ve done lately. So I went for something that I love to paint, flowers!

For this floral manicure I used I believe in manicures, Apartment for two, Mod about you and I’m sooo swamped! all from OPI, together with a dotting tool and a detail brush from Depend. The dotting tool and detail brush have become favorites of mine. Since I got them I have used them for almost all my free-hand nail art designs. (Read more about them here)
