LUSH Halloween

A few weeks ago I visited Lush and picked up some bath bombs, I bought both new ones from the Halloween and Christmas collections as well as some old classics. Today I will be showing you two bath bombs from the Halloween collection.

I wish that every bath I take would be with a bath bomb from lush, but sometimes I have to go for a bubble bath too (it would be too expensive otherwise).

This little monster of a bomb is a mash-up of lime and neroli oils, and it smells lovely. It goes from white to pink and purple and blue and looks so pretty in the bath. I’m not gonna lie though, this one stains really bad. I was pink after the bath, not to mention my bath tub…

This lil’ jack-o’-lantern has a spicy, sweet perfume full of exotic pimento, sweet vanilla and warming cinnamon. This one was not as exciting as the Monster’s ball, it just left the water orange (and of course nicely scented).

*I realize that I didn’t take any pictures of them before they went in to the bath, so I borrowed pictures of them from Lush’s website.

Cirque Colors

I have recently gotten really into indie polishes. It all started with piCture pOlish this summer, and my latest discovery is Cirque Colors.

Cirque Colors is a New York-based indie brand specializing in hand-blended nail lacquers. Their nail polish is 3-free, which means it does not contain toluene, formaldehyde and dibutyl phthalate (DBP). And in true indie style all their products are hand-mixed in small batches and hand-poured individually.

Let’s take a look at my first three, but definitely not last, polishes from Cirque Colors.

img_0599Cirque – Xochitl

Xochitl is a beautiful purple linear holographic polish that covers in two coats. I don’t know why but I’m really drawn to purple holos and this one is no exception. I actually think this one could be my absolute favorite purple holo!

img_0603Cirque – Bejeweled

Bejeweled is a blue linear holographic polish that covers in two coats. OMG just look at this blue color, isn’t it the prettiest you’ve seen!?

img_0607Cirque – Framboise

Framboise is a raspberry pink linear holographic polish that covers in two coats. Wow, another stunning polish! This color is just so pretty and girly.

You guys I’m really impressed with these polishes, they are super easy to apply and have great formulas! I don’t think I can decide which shade I like the most, it depends on what mood I’m in for the moment.

Have you tried any polishes from Cirque Colors?

Tri color marbled chevron

I made this manicure for a birthday collage for Malin (@just.mynails) and the inspiration was one of her beautiful nail designs. I really like the way these nails turned out and I could have worn them for days (but I didn’t).

To create this manicure I used Madam president, Suzi shops and island hops and Malaga wine from OPI and Marbled chevron nail vinyls from Snail vinyls.

Beauty favorites October

Here are my favorite beauty product from this past month!

L’Oréal – Elvital Extraordinary Clay Shampoo & Conditioner

I have to say that I like everything about these two! They are cheap, you can find them at the supermarket, they smell nice and the hair feels really good after using them. Well ok, I know one thing that I don’t like and it’s that the conditioner is only 200ml instead of 250ml like the shampoo. Right now I have a bottle of shampoo with a lot of product left and a bottle of conditioner that is empty.

OPI – Black dress not optional

This black polish with shimmer is from OPI’s latest collection, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I just got it and I have already used it several times in different manicures.

By Terry – Baume de rose

With the cold autumn weather my lips have started to get dry. Baume de rose is the best product I’ve tried to get nice and smooth lips. I only have to use it once a day to keep my lips happy.

Universal Beauty – Secret flush blush

This is actually the first creme blush I’ve tried and I really like it. I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical at first, but together with a blending sponge the result looks really natural and pretty. This shade has a bit of a glow in it too.

Too Faced – Better than sex mascara

I got this mascara in May when I was in Barcelona, but it isn’t until recently that I have started to use it. The first time I tried it I didn’t like it, I thought the brush was really bad and it gave me spider legs. But then something happened the second time I used, it was really good and it has been since!

Essie Getting Groovy

I got this year’s holiday collection from Essie just in time for when the first snow arrived, so I’m actually getting some Christmas vibes now!
This collection is inspired by the swinging 60’s in London. It was way before my time, so I can’t really say if the inspiration is right or not… But I do like London, polish and Essie, so I guess this collection is just my cup of tea!

“I’m into love, peace, and getting groovy” – Essie

img_0564

img_0565Essie Getting Groovy – Go with the flowy

Go with the flowy is a pale grey polish with silver shimmer that covers in two coats. I think it’s a very pretty shade and it feels just right for the holidays. I bet it would be perfect for some snowflake nail art.

img_0568

img_0569Essie Getting Groovy – Satin sister

Satin sister is a dark teal creme polish that covers in two coats. It dries super shiny and I love this dark shade against my pale skin.

img_0560

img_0561Essie Getting Groovy – Getting groovy

Getting groovy is a gold metallic polish that covers in two coats. This polish is the star of the collection and I can totally see why. It looks like my nails are dipped in gold, I love it!

img_0572

img_0573Essie Getting Groovy – Oh behave!

Oh behave! is a peach frost polish with gold shimmer that covers in two coats. I actually like this shade more than I thought I would, since I’m not that into frosty polishes.

img_0553

img_0554Essie Getting Groovy – Party on a platform

Party on a platform is a red creme polish that covers in two coats. It’s a perfect santa red for the holidays.

img_0576

img_0577Essie Getting Groovy – Ready to boa

Ready to boa is a mahogany polish with bronze shimmer. This polish is a OCW, however I’m wearing two coats here just to get a better finish.

img_0578

I like that we get a holiday collection with not just a bunch of different shades of red and that is has a mix of cremes and metallics/shimmers. I also like that this collection consists of a few not so common shades such as Ready to boa, Go with the flowy and Oh behave! All polishes have good formulas and were easy to apply. My favorites from this collection are Satin sister and Getting groovy.

KENZO X H&M nail art

Nail art inspiration can come from anywhere! There nails are inspired by H&M latest designer collaboration with KENZO.

I have the H&M app in my Iphone and about a week ago it was updated and got a whole new look, and I though wow that would some make great nail art.

img_0014

I googled for a bigger picture and found this one, then I went through my nail polish stash to pick out polishes that would match. I used My dogsled is a hybrid, I’m sooo swamped!, Sorry I’m fizzy today, Shorts story and Lady in black, all from OPI.

Empties #7

Travel sizes is this empties theme. I really like getting travel size products, becase they’re great for when you travel, but also you get a chance to try out the product before buying the full size.

img_7069

Kevin Murphy – Plumping wash & rinse

I really like these two products and I love the way they smell! Unfortunately the price tag is a bit high, so I’ll stick to some cheaper alternatives.

Maria Åkerberg – Body lotion bergamot sandalwood

I don’t really like the smell of this body lotion, so I’m glad I just got the travel size. Apart from that it is a good body lotion.

Maria Nila – True soft shampoo & conditioner

This shampoo and conditioner duo is really good, they smell nice and leave the hair soft and shiny. I would buy the big size of these ones, if they were not so expensive. There are other products that are cheaper that are as good as these, so I’ll stick to the cheaper ones.

Clarins- Beauty flash balm

This is a product that has been with me for a few years now. I use it before I put on my makeup and it gives the skin a nice glow and works as a primer.

Blue floral nails

I felt that I needed to paint something completely different to all the fall and Halloween designs I’ve done lately. So I went for something that I love to paint, flowers!

img_9983

For this floral manicure I used I believe in manicures, Apartment for two, Mod about you and I’m sooo swamped! all from OPI, together with a dotting tool and a detail brush from Depend. The dotting tool and detail brush have become favorites of mine. Since I got them I have used them for almost all my free-hand nail art designs. (Read more about them here)
