I got this year’s holiday collection from Essie just in time for when the first snow arrived, so I’m actually getting some Christmas vibes now!
This collection is inspired by the swinging 60’s in London. It was way before my time, so I can’t really say if the inspiration is right or not… But I do like London, polish and Essie, so I guess this collection is just my cup of tea!
“I’m into love, peace, and getting groovy” – Essie
Essie Getting Groovy – Go with the flowy
Go with the flowy is a pale grey polish with silver shimmer that covers in two coats. I think it’s a very pretty shade and it feels just right for the holidays. I bet it would be perfect for some snowflake nail art.
Essie Getting Groovy – Satin sister
Satin sister is a dark teal creme polish that covers in two coats. It dries super shiny and I love this dark shade against my pale skin.
Essie Getting Groovy – Getting groovy
Getting groovy is a gold metallic polish that covers in two coats. This polish is the star of the collection and I can totally see why. It looks like my nails are dipped in gold, I love it!
Essie Getting Groovy – Oh behave!
Oh behave! is a peach frost polish with gold shimmer that covers in two coats. I actually like this shade more than I thought I would, since I’m not that into frosty polishes.
Essie Getting Groovy – Party on a platform
Party on a platform is a red creme polish that covers in two coats. It’s a perfect santa red for the holidays.
Essie Getting Groovy – Ready to boa
Ready to boa is a mahogany polish with bronze shimmer. This polish is a OCW, however I’m wearing two coats here just to get a better finish.
I like that we get a holiday collection with not just a bunch of different shades of red and that is has a mix of cremes and metallics/shimmers. I also like that this collection consists of a few not so common shades such as Ready to boa, Go with the flowy and Oh behave! All polishes have good formulas and were easy to apply. My favorites from this collection are Satin sister and Getting groovy.
